The Sobonya Family

Kelli Davis Sobonya was born July 13, 1963 in Ironton, Ohio and grew up in the Westmoreland area of Huntington in Wayne County. She is a graduate of
the Institute of Computer Management in Pittsburgh. After marrying her high school sweetheart, Ed Sobonya, she moved back to the Huntington area. They have been married for 30 years and and have two children, Andrew, a graduate of WVU Tech with a degree in electrical engineering technology is employed with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and is married to the former Tiffany Pratt. Ed and Kelli Sobonya are proud grandparents of two grandsons, Isaiah and Brayden Sobonya. Their daughter Abby, graduated with a political science degree from WVU and is employed as an Account Executive with Minardi Public Affairs.

Kelli is a graduate of the Institute of Computer Management, Pittsburgh, PA and the Real Estate Development Center. Kelli became licensed in West Virginia as a real estate agent in 1997 and is a Realtor associated with Century 21 Homes and Land, Inc. She and her husband owned, The Gym Factory
Tumble Jungle in Barboursville for twenty years and she was also employed by the Marshall University School of Medicine for many years.

Prior to being elected, Kelli served as a volunteer lobbyist for pro-family
issues for 10 years for such organizations as West Virginians for Life and
WV Christian Coalition. She was appointed to the Cabell County Emergency 911
Advisory Board for the Cabell County Commission where she served two terms.

Community service is very important to Kelli Sobonya. She is a member of the Farmdale Church of Christ where she has served as Church Clerk and as a
youth leader/teacher for Kindergarten through 5th grades & nursery. She is active in the Barboursville Rotary Club; Barboursville GFWC Women's Club; Beta Sigma Phi, NRA; National Association of Realtors; WV Association of Realtors (Government Affairs Committee); Huntington Board of Realtors
(Legislative Affairs Committee) and 2008 Realtor of the Year recipient; WV Public Policy Council; Small Business Survival Committee; Sustaining Member RNC; WV Federation of Republican Women; Huntington-Cabell Republican Women;
Advisory Board - WV Habitat for Humanity; CIS (Communities in Schools) Board of Directors; Past Recipient of West Virginia Chapter of Concerned Women for America "Woman of the Year" Award and honored as LEAD Award by WV Law
Enforcement; Member of Civil Air Patrol.

Kelli is grateful for the opportunity of serving the citizens of District 16 and hope to represent them in District 18 (the newly-created district from redistricting).
